Dear Colleagues,

The Plekhanov House (Dom Plekhanova), the National Library of Russia
department, is pleased to announce The IX Plekhanov Conference on "The
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, 1922-1991: A Historical Impasse, or
A Historical Transformation Perspective?",to be held on 30 May - 1 June,
2010, and invites proposals for paper presentation at
the meeting from historians, social scientists, academic and educational
institutions.

On the eve of the event Dom Plekhanova publishes the traditional "Book
of Abstracts",  and researchers, who wish to contribute to the forum,
should send their applications and abstracts (up to 6 pages, New Roman
Style, 12-point type, one-and-a-half space) by April 10, 2010, to
