Dear Colleagues,

The 11th Biennial Journees Internationales de Sociologie du Travail are taking place at the LSE on Wednesday June 20th, and at London Metropolitan University on June 21st and 22nd.
Registration for the main international day (with simultaneous translation) costs £55 (including lunch) or £120 for the three days, with reduced tariffs of £30 for students, retired or unemployed (on the 20th June) or £80 for the three days.
The full programme and list of speakers and nearly all the draft papers
are available on www.jist2007.org

With the first day being opened by the French Ambassador, the highlights will be leading English and French work sociologists examining the evolution of precarious work systems across Europe, including Duncan Gallie, Jill Rubery, Paul Edwards, Helena Hirata, Francois Dubet and Robert Boyer.
But on the Thursday and Friday there will be more than 25 papers individually presented on trade unions and mobilisation, and a similar number on government intervention and industrial relations. In addition there are another nine parallel workshops and an evening of work-related films. Already 270 papers have been submitted and the final figure will be still higher.
Do come yourself, and also please pass this information on to whomever you think might be interested.

all the best
Steve
