Subject: 10th NATIONAL LABOUR HISTORY CONFERENCE 4-6 JULY DRAFT
PROGRAMME REGISTER NOW
Comrades, citizens and conferees, we send you greetings.
Planning for the 10th National Labour History Conference at the
University of Melbourne on 4-6 July 2007 is now in its final stages. The
programme in pdf can be found at: http://asslh.org.au/melbourne/ . We've
tried to present a range of talks and papers from a balanced team of
researchers and activists who can speak in an informative and engaging
way about different aspects of Labour Traditions. We hope you agree and
decide to register. You can keep up to date with any last minute
refinements to the programme by going to the Conference website at:
http://asslh.org.au/melbourne/
If you'd like to join us in this, now's the time to register using the
form that can be found at: http://asslh.org.au/melbourne/
When doing that, could you please be sure to make cheques payable to THE
UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE? As one of our sponsors, they've been kind
enough to provide us with access to their banking system to make it
easier for you to pay and receive a receipt for taxation purposes.
You will notice on the form that there is an option to pay an additional
$65 for the Conference Dinner (with wine) to be held at 7.00 pm on
Wednesday 4 July at University House, which is within easy walking
distance of the Conference venue. If the experience of previous national
conferences is any indication, it should be a grand night. But wait,
there's more. At no extra cost, apart from drinks you might care to buy,
on Thursday night, 5 July, we're presenting a conducted tour of the
historic Melbourne Trades Hall, followed by drinks in Paddy's Trades
Hall Bar and a performance by the Victorian Trade Union Choir. You can
check out their website by following the links on the Conference site.
We look forward to seeing you on 4 July.
Cheers,
Peter Love & Julie Kimber,
for the Organising Committee.
