International Institute of Social History - Vacancy: Director (m/f)

The International Institute of Social History (IISH) in Amsterdam is one
of the institutes of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences
(KNAW). IISH maintains library, archival and audiovisual collections in
the area of social history and provides access to these collections for
research and parties interested. The institute is one of the most
important scientific heritage institutions within the Netherlands. In
the area of social and economic historical research, the IISH is a major
international player.

For the general and daily management of the institute the Academy is
looking for an excellent scientist with merits in the area of European
and/or Asian social/social economical history. Affinity with and
knowledge of policy and management of the (digital) collections is
necessary. We are looking for an inspiring and stimulating leader with a
vision on the future of the institute and a broad managerial experience.
Active knowledge of Dutch or willingness to learn Dutch is required.
