Open Days 2007

 

The library will again be participating in the national  Open  Days
scheme on  Saturday 8tth September and Sunday 9th September. The library
will be open to public  from 11am to 4pm on both  days. Visitors will be
taken on tours of the collection and see rooms not normally open to the
public. Light refreshments  will be served.

 

 The WCML  is a   unique national library and archive of the history of
radical, trade union and socialist movement in Britain from the 1770s to
the present day. It  was found  over 50 years ago by Ruth and Edmund
Frow in their own home and now fills  nearly 40 rooms in a former nurses
home in Salford. This  wonderful  collection tells the story of the
fight for economic and  social justice and political progress over 200
